Music therapy is an allied health profession in which a trained music therapist uses music to help in many ways.
When music therapists work with children they can help improve their health across various areas e.g. cognitive functioning, motor skills, emotional development, behaviour and social skills. They can also enhance and improve the quality of life using music experiences to achieve treatment goals and objectives. This can be achieved in groups or on an individual basis.
Rachel Crennall (nee Millman) is a highly experienced therapist used to working with children with a wide a range of abilities. She offers both individual sessions and group sessions. Sometimes she works with another therapist such as a physio or speech and language therapist and sometimes alone, depending on the specific need of the child.
